Bowyer Leads Walton to Perfect 8-0 Start

Jay Bowyer (Class of 2014; Walton High School)

SEBA's Jay Bowyer (5' 10, PG, 2014) has led Walton High School to a perfect 8-0 start on the 2013-14 season. Bowyer, who transferred to Walton from Harrison High School this past summer, has been an outstanding addition for Coach Joe Goydish's Raider squad. The quick and physically strong floor general has been putting up both high scoring and assist numbers, in addition to demonstrating his stellar defensive play.

In Walton's most recent victory, Jay scored 27 points in a 83-58 victory over Campbell. This effort included 20 points in the 1st quarter alone, where he knocked down six three pointers.

Jay is a fierce competitor who makes the players around him better. He has improved his skill set significantly over the past year and, just as importantly, has matured as a team leader. Jay had a strong showing on the AAU circuit this past Spring and Summer while running the point guard position for the FCI Warriors, where he averaged 14 ppg and 5 assists. He will be a great pick-up for a College program looking for a physically ready point guard that can contribute as a freshman.

Walton will take their undefeated record on the road to the Sunshine State after Christmas, as the Raiders will be competing in the Marlin Classic at Arnold High School in Panama City on December 27-30th. They will then jump into the thick of Region play with a big matchup against Cherokee on January 7th.
