Date Announced for 2014 SEBA Atlanta College Showcase

The 2014 Atlanta Spring College Showcase, presented by the Southeast Basketball Academy (SEBA), will be held March 29 on the campus of Oglethorpe University.

This Annual SEBA Event, now in its 9th year, is one of the nation's most highly regarded spring basketball exposure camps for Unsigned Seniors (2014 grads) aspiring to play college basketball. The camp is also open to Juniors from the Class of 2015, and Class of 2016 (Sophomores) who played varsity ball this season, as well as Prep-Post Grad Players and JUCO Sophs looking to move on to a Four Year College. Players not invited directly by the SEBA staff should have the recommendation of their school or travel ball coach.

Several recruiting publications will also be covering the event. Over 60+ College coaches attended last year's camp, resulting in numerous college opportunities for the players in attendance. The Georgia College Basketball Coaches Association (GABCA) will be holding their annual Spring Meeting and Social in conjunction with this camp.

The event will consist of 5-on5 Full Court Scrimmages (3 Game minimum), skills stations, and Top 30 All-Star Game. All players with also receive a profile in the College Coaches Packet and receive SEBA Reversible Jersey.

SEBA Players Play Major Role in Oglethorpe's Strong Start

Oglethorpe University is off to a very impressive 11-1 start this 2013-14 season. Despite having a very young team, OU has compiled the best start in the school's long and accomplished basketball history. The Petrels, coached by Phil Ponder, are currently receiving consideration in the NCAA national rankings and are listed as the nation's #29 team in the D3Hoops National poll.

Oglethorpe recently earned two big victories to win the Country Inn and Suites Holiday Classic played on Dec. 29th and 30th. One of these wins was against a strong Stevenson University team which entered the game at 9-1.

The Oglethorpe roster has a strong Southeast Basketball Academy (SEBA) connection, as seven (7) players on the roster are alumni of either SEBA Exposure Camps and/or training programs. This includes starting Junior Forward Jordan Kinney from Harrison High School (9.4 ppg, 5 rebounds); Freshman guard Connor Smith from St. Francis (8 ppg) and Alex Davis from Pace Academy (9 ppg and team leading 3.2 assists). Freshmen Will Perry (Centennial) and Forward Connor Sigrist (Greenbrier) have been contributing valuable minutes off the bench in their rookie season for the Petrels. Reserves Joe Marco (Mt. Pisgah) and Sean Overstreet (Jacksonville Episcopal) have added depth on the perimeter.

We look forward to following all of the Petrel's success as they enter into the heart of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Conference schedule this weekend. The Petrels travel to Arkansas this Friday to play Hendrix College and then will travel to Memphis to take on a tough Rhodes College team on Sunday.
