2017 SEBA Atlanta All-Star Shootout (Recap & Top Performers)

The 2017 SEBA Atlanta All-Star Shootout was held September 16th on the campus of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. This 15th Anniversary Fall event featured a full capacity roster of 200 prospects from all areas of Georgia, as well as from the states of Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, and Texas. The Shootout brought excellent exposure to all of the participants, as a large collection of college coaches from throughout the South were in attendance to evaluate and recruit the talent on hand.

Tre Gomillion (6’ 3, CG, Aquinas; 2018)
Talented guard out of Augusta had an excellent showing. Excelled as both a scorer and as playmaker for his teammates. Very good while attacking rim. Uses his strength and physicality to finish strongly. Showed good on-court leadership in directing and motivating teammates. Very active player on both ends of court. Has recovered nicely from the knee injury suffered in Spring. Demonstrated athleticism with two impressive back-to-back dunks in traffic during All-Star Game. Was named 2nd Team All-State as a Junior and the Augusta Area Player of Year while averaging 20 ppg, 13 boards, and 4 assists.

Jonathan McFall (6’ 4, Wing, Rabun Gap; 2018)
High rising wing prospect who shined throughout the camp. Jonathan owned some of the camp’s top plays with several highlight reel dunks and finishes. He demonstrated good dribble moves and a quick first step which allowed him to attack rim consistently for scores. Thrives on the fast break and finishes way above rim. Show the ability to create and knock down jump shot off the dribble. Intriguing prospect for Low Major D1 programs.

Adrian Cohen (6’ 5, SG, Etowah; 2018)
High upside guard with excellent combination of size, length, and athleticism. Adrian made good impression with his coachability and willingness to work hard in morning skill stations. That carried over into the 5-on-5 play, where he slashed his way to the rim for buckets and fast break finishes. Also made his presence known with aggressive on-ball defense and rebounding. Has all the tools to be a standout at the next level.

Joshua Strong (6’ 1, CG, Kennesaw Mountain; 2018)
One of the camp’s top overall guards and scorers, Josh put up lots of points and made it look easy while doing so. He has an excellent mid-range game and an extremely effective floater over taller defenders. He shot the lights out from three point land uses good balance and body control to finish drives to rim. Has quick hands and gets a lot of deflections on defense. Averaged 18 ppg as a Junior last season while being named All-Region. Should be one of Cobb County’s Top Players this coming year.

Jackson Baylark (6’ 4, Wing, Pope; 2018)
Highly athletic and explosive wing who impacts game in many ways. Has tremendous leaping ability; lit up the gym with a spectacular dunk over defender on fast break. Plays with great energy and drive. Whether it was converting offensive putbacks, coming helpside to block shots, or diving to keep ball in play, Jackson was all over the court making good things happen. He has a reliable midrange jumper and has improved range out to three point range. Was named All-Region as a Junior.

Arusha Hunter (6’ 2, CG, Dacula; 2018)
Gwinnett County standout scored the ball well throughout the day. He has a sweet stroke from beyond the arc and a nice mid-range game. Took defenders off the dribble when they overplayed his shot and finished well in paint. Active defender on and off the ball. Averaged over 18 ppg while garnering All-State honors as a Junior. Look for him to be a major piece for a strong Dacula team and one of Georgia’s top guards this coming season.

Corey Myart Jr. (6’ 7, Forward, Duluth; 2018)
Emerging big man who impressed with his performance. Finished well around the rim and demonstrated some nice low post moves on the block. Crashes offensive boards hard and keeps possession alive for his team. Defensively, he was a strong presence protecting the lane and contesting shots. As he continues to develop under the tutelage of Cabral Huff and the Duluth coaching staff, don’t be surprised to see Corey turn into a real force this coming season.

​Lincoln Smith (6’ 5, Wing, Shaw; 2018)
Wing - Forward player with strong frame and above average athleticism, Plays with a big motor. Tough matchup for opponents. Scores in midrange zone with effective pull-up jumper and is also tough in the paint. He runs the floor well and gets out in transition. Crashes boards hard; Has good court vision and dished out several nice assists to teammates for easy scores. One of top players in the Columbus Area.

​Tomas Butkus (6’ 3, PG, Rabun Gap; 2018)
Very impressive lead guard with good size and skill set; A native of Lithuania, he plays with a competitive edge and excellent court presence. Handles the ball well and gets into the paint off penetration. Understands the game. Did a very good job of breaking down defense off the dribble and creating scoring opportunities for himself and teammates. Talent and skill set will translate well to College level.

​Kyler Ingram (6’ 5, Forward, Cambridge; 2018)
Very strong and physical player with 230 lbs. frame; Kyler overpowered opponents, scoring at will whenever he had the ball inside the ball or on the block. Has long arms and broad shoulders that allow him to play much bigger than his height. On the defensive end, he is a top notch shot blocker. Got his hand on or altered numerous shots each of his camp games. Good rebounder on both ends of floor. Had a strong Summer and will be a high impact player for a nice Cambridge squad ready to make noise this season.

​Jahwan Smith (5’ 10, PG, Kell; 2018)
Lightning Quick Point Guard with good playmaking ability. Good penetrator and sees floor well. One of the top defensive players in camp; locked down opponents with strong on-ball defense and active in passing lanes. Has nice pull-up mid-range game and finishes well at the bucket. Strong on court leader. Plays with hunger.

Tim Green II (6’ 7, Forward, Carrollton; 2018)
Long athletic Forward with excellent upside & potential. Good shot blocker, rebounder, and runs floor well. Has nice midrange/face up jumper. Outstanding academic student with 29 ACT and 4.0 GPA. Young for rising Senior (only 16 years old); best ball is definitely ahead of him. Must see prospect for high academic schools.

Andy Blair (6’ 3, CG, Palm Harbor, FL; 2018)
Impressive guard with good all-around skill set and understanding of the game. Showed the ability to score, create, and defend. Sees the floor well and sets up teammates for open looks.  Aggressive defender with good strength; rebounds well from guard spot. Knocked down the three ball consistently. Has good test scores and is a player that higher academic schools should target.

Chalin Hippe (6’ 4, Wing, Decatur; 2018)
If you are looking for a breakout guy in Dekalb County this coming season, Chalin might very well be your guy. The long and athletic wing showed good versatility and ability to defend multiple positions. He was very active on the boards and effective in transition. Was comfortable knocking down the mid-range jumper or putting ball on floor and attacking basket. Plays with good energy.

​Tahkwon King (6’ 1, CG, Jefferson County; 2018)
Standout performer who lit up the scoreboard with his scoring ability. Tahkwon gave opponents fits with his quickness and ability to attack gaps in the defense. He finished on a variety of acrobatic drives; uses his body really well around the rim.  When defenders backed off to prevent penetration, he demonstrated a very capable midrange and three-point shot. All-Region as a Junior; Definite prospect for Coaches to keep tabs on in East Georgia.

Derek Miller (6’ 7, Forward, Apalachee; 2018)
Forward with long wingspan and good upside potential; was a strong presence in the paint throughout the day. While offensive game is still somewhat raw, he scored on a variety of low post moves, tip-ins, and short face up jumpers. Was one of the camp’s top interior defenders, where he blocked shots and provided good rim protection. Was All-Region selection as a Junior; is really going to thrive as he continues to develop more confidence.

​Ryan Jenei (6’ 3, SG, Alpharetta; 2018)
Skilled and very fundamentally sound prospect who does a lot of things well. Has a high basketball IQ. He was one of the top three-point shooters in camp. Does a good job finding seams in defense and knocking down long treys. Rebounds well from the guard spot. He is a Top Tier student in the classroom with a 31 ACT score. Attractive target for elite academic institutions.

Nicholas Clifton (6’ 4, Wing, Screven County; 2018)
Having suffered knee injury and subsequent surgery over the past year; The SEBA Shootout was Nicholas first high level opportunity to compete since receiving full medical clearance. He certainly made the most of the opportunity, as he shined with his play. He has excellent length and spring and plays with good versatility. He showed no effects of the injury while slashing and soaring to the rim for scores. Has the ability to guard multiple positions. Runs floor well. Good upside and has the hunger. Could be one of State’s top 2018 Sleepers.

2018 Guards

The Camp roster boosted a deep pool of talented 2018 perimeter players who will play at the next level.  In addition to the players listed above, here are some others who also made their mark. Jordan Sterling (6’ 2, CG, Arabia Mountain) is a good looking scoring guard with skill and athleticism. He showed the ability to create shot off the bounce and an excellent pull-up jumper. Defends the ball well and is a good student in the classroom. The Dekalb County standout is an impressive prospect for coaches to take a close look at. Nathan Gauthreaux (6’ 3, SG, Johns Creek) creates his shot well off the dribble getting good separation from defenders. He is a team orientated player, always looking to get others involved. On the defensive end, he has good length and is very active, picking up a fair share of steals. Nathan is an extremely high academic student with a 32 ACT and is a must see for Elite Academic Programs to evaluate. Tre’ Mays (6’ 0, CG, Jenkins) is a compact scoring guard with good quickness. He shot the ball consistently well from beyond the arc. When driving to the rim, he uses his upper body strength to finish strong for scores. He was named 1st Team All-Region and All-Savannah Area a year ago. Zach Gay (6’ 2, SG, Franklin County) is a hard-nosed and skilled guard who impressed with his all-around contributions. Named All-Region as a Junior, he was in “hustle” mode throughout the day, knocking down shots, dishing assists, and doing many of the little things that don’t show up in stat book. Higher academic schools need to give him a close look with his 3.6 GPA and 24 ACT. D’won Smith (5’ 8, PG, Clarke Central) is big scorer in a small package. Named All-Region last season as a Junior, D’won showed the ability to really shoot the ball from three point land and light up the scoreboard.  Will Richter(6’ 4, CG, Johnson) is an nice guard prospect with good size. He does a great job creating scoring opportunities off the dribble and plays with good energy. Will also played aggressive defense on ball and picked up several steals and deflections. Iram Spann (6’ 3, SG, Druid Hills) is a knock down shooter with dual ability to score at the rim. Sees floor well and dished out several nice assists to teammates. Gage Henry (5’ 8, PG, Dade County) is a fun player to watch. He has excellent court vision and is a fine distributor. Plays scrappy and hard-nosed defense and isn’t afraid to get on the floor for loose balls. Has solid outside stroke. Recorded four “triple doubles” last year while being named 1st Team All-Region. Stone Champion (6’ 4, SG, Creekside Christian Academy) attracted the interest of several College Coaches in attendance. Coming off Junior season where he averaged 24 ppg, Stone was automatic from three point land when spotting up. He uses size well when driving lane and moves well without ball. Dustin Ladson (6’ 3, CG, Hillgrove) is an athletic guard prospect with good frame. He attacks the rim well and thrives in the open court. Has good lift and is aggressive defender. Could be a one of Cobb County’s biggest sleepers this coming season. Ashton Burley (6’ 1, PG, Cass) was one of the top pure point guards in camp. An excellent distributor, Ashton does a great job running his team, drawing defenders in and hitting open teammates for open looks. He is a four year Varsity standout and was named 1st Team All-Region last season.  Troy “TJ” Cagle (6’ 0, CG, Mt. Zion – Carroll) is a knockdown three point shooter with a quick release and deep range. He uses change of pace moves very well and can create off the dribble.

Zach Ledbetter (5’ 11, CG, Bowdon) caught positive attention from evaluators with his playmaking abilities. He has a tight handle, nice three point stroke, and laser court vision. Look for him to build upon successful Junior campaign where he averaged 14 ppg. Darius Johnson (5’ 7, PG, Hiram) is a energetic and physically strong lead guard with good quickness. He can knock down the trey and attack gaps on drives to the rim. Tough full-court defender on ball; standout student with 3.8 GPA and 25 ACT. Gray Purkey (6’ 2, SG, MLK Magnet, TN) is a lights out shooter who had a good showing. The Nashville prospect has a smooth stroke, is smart on the court, and stretches the defense. A high academic prospect (25 ACT), he also defends with good energy. Reggie Horton (5’ 10, PG, Dacula) is an athletic guard who likes to attack the rim and uses his body well to score. He is one of several impressive prospects in a loaded collection of talented guards for Coach Russ Triaga’s Dacula squad. A.J. Hassell (5’ 11, PG, Woodville Tompkins) had a good showing throughout the day. The quick floor general from Savannah created well off the bounce and led the fastbreak with precision. Coaches looking for a knockdown shooter need to evaluate Abba Wague (6’ 2, SG, Rabun Gap). The skilled marksman can really shoot the three ball. Whether spotting up or off the dribble, he is a player with deep range. He should pass 1,000 career point mark early in Senior season. Devin Sheats (6’ 3, CG, Monroe Area) is a strong and physical guard with a well-balanced floor game. He uses his body well when driving to hoop and is a solid three point threat. He rebounds really well for a guard and is a good positional defender. First rate student in classroom with 4.2 GPA and 1190 SAT. Gabe Armstead (6’ 3, SG, Kennesaw Mountain) is another attractive prospect out of the Kennesaw Mountain program. Gabe is a multi-faceted perimeter threat with good athleticism. He is a good slasher, creates his shot well, and is dangerous on the fast break. Raphael Rogers (6’ 2, SG, Hiram) is a wing guard who earned good reviews with his athletic and energetic play. He is a good finisher and uses leaping ability to make plays at the rim. Also demonstrated a good outside stroke. showed Markeevius Byrd (6’ 1, PG, Metter) is a nice guard prospect. He has good slashing ability, a dead-eye pull up, and strong offensive skill set. He was named 1st Team All-Region as a Junior and scored a 1130 on the SAT. Micah McCuen (6’ 3, SG, Sprayberry) is quickly making a name for himself with his eye opening play. After missing his Junior season due to eligibility issues, the Cobb County product had a good showing during the July Live period and has carried the momentum into the Fall. He is a strong and physical guard who can score the basketball at all three levels. He has a knack for hitting big shots in key situations. An aggressive defender, Micah is very active in picking up steals and forcing turnovers.            

2019 & 2020 Guards

Kendall Latney (6’ 2, PG, Mill Creek; 2020) is a young athletic guard with a very bright future. The 2020 standout put his talent on display, knocking down treys, leading the break, and converting tough acrobatic drives. He has excellent speed and leaping ability. With continued progression, Kendall has a chance to be an elite Georgia prospect in his class. Talique Williams (5’ 9, PG, Harris County; 2020) is an impressive young lead guard with ability to break down defense with excellent quickness and driving ability. He does a good job drawing defenders and kicking to open teammates, while also creating scoring opportunities for himself. Was named Georgia “Freshman of Year” last season in Class AAAAA while carrying a 4.1 GPA in classroom. Isaiah Glasper (6’ 3, SG, Monroe Area) is an intriguing guard prospect with good length. He has a solid perimeter skill set, athleticism, and defends the ball well. Also a football standout, he earned respect by suiting up for a late Friday night game on the gridiron and then putting in a full day of hard work during camp on Saturday. Deante Green (5’ 8, PG, Woodville Tompkins; 2019) is a sparkplug guard out of Savannah to watch. He showed ability to consistently finish at the basket and create jumper off the dribble. He played excellent defense and had multiple steals which led to buckets.  Carter Oesterling (6’ 2, CG, Westminster, 2019) is a strong point guard who can lead an offense. He was consistent on his shot and finished well when driving into the paint. Duluth High School has a deep and talented collection of Senior talent on their roster; however, Junior Jordan Blue (6’ 2, G, Duluth, 2019) is also ready to make his mark for the Wildcats. The rising prospect is certainly one to keep an eye on as he impressed with his ability to penetrate and score at the rim as well as to finish in transition. Kalik Brooks (6’ 3, CG, Alpharetta; 2019) is a multi-threat combo guard that is hard to defend. He was effective off penetration and when knocking down jumpers. He creates well for teammates and plays with poise.

2018 & 2019 Wings

At the Wing position, Derrick Harden (6’8, Mt. Zion; 2019) is a prospect with huge upside. He handles the ball well and has great length. Is comfortable initiating the fast break and creating for others. Is at his best when attacking the rim. While far form a finished product, the potential is there for him to be Major Division I prospect. Jamal “JP” McGhee (6’ 4, Wing, Milton; 2018) is an athletic forward that caught the attention of multiple coaches and scouts with his intensity. He has a big motor, good leaping ability, and is an aggressive defender and rebounder. He is the type of player whose on-court efforts sets the tone for his teammates. Dade County had several players in attendance who impressed and Jonathan Wood (6’ 4, Dade County; 2018) was certainly one of them. He has good strength, inside-out scoring ability and crashes boards for rebounds. He exhibited good range on his shot and plays smart. Vance Anderson (6’ 3, Paulding County; 2018) is a strong bodied wing with a nice outside stroke. Knocked down the three ball consistently. Has ability to effectively defend multiple positions and is a good rebounder from guard spot. Tay Howard (6’ 4, CG, East Jackson) is a rising guard prospect with nice potential. On defense, His length allows him to get a lot of deflections and help create turnovers. On the offensive side, he plays with good control; knocking down jumpers and creating off the drive. Chandler Davenport (6’ 4, Wing, Jeff Davis; 2018) is a player who makes good contribution in numerous areas. He is a solid three point shooter, passes the ball well for a wing, and brings a lot of intangibles that help his team win. That along with his strong academic resume makes him a player worthy of looks. Preston Crisp (6’ 4, Wing, Woodville Tompkins; 2019) was yet another prospect from Savannah’s Woodville Tompkins High School who had an impressive showing. He has good length and uses his body well to create pull up jumpers. He runs the lane well on the fast break and scored consistently in transition. On defense, his length was an asset and caused problems for smaller guards.                
Forwards

Firat Ceylan (6’ 7, Rabun Gap; 2019) is a powerful force in the low post. A native of Turkey, Firat uses superior strength to power thru contact for buckets. He seems to welcome chance to bang inside. Has solid footwork and good hands. One of the top rebounders in camp. An overall nice prospect for coaches to keep close tabs on. Thomas O’Neil (6’ 10, Richmond Hill; 2018) is an intimidating physical presence at 6’ 10 and 250 lbs. At this point in his development, he is farther advanced as a defensive player. He did a good job providing rim protection, contesting/blocking shots, and pulling rebounds. On offensive end, had several solid finishes in the paint and showed good work ethic during skill stations. As he continues to develop, Thomas will make a nice addition for a school at next level. Nicholas Wilson (6’ 6, McKeel Academy, FL; 2018) is a long forward with a versatile skill set. He scored in the paint on variety of crafty post moves as well as beyond the arc, knocking down several three pointers. He has good instincts on defense, where he deflected and blocked a good share of shot attempts. His 3.6 GPA and 1140 SAT make him an intriguing prospect for higher academic schools. Julian Baldwin (6’ 7, Etowah; 2018) is a forward with much upside. He is an impact guy in the paint; but also has the ability to step out on the perimeter and knock down shots. Played with good energy and was active on the boards. Will be key contributor for talented Etowah team. Quamontae Monfort (6’ 6, Clarke Central; 2018) is a solid inside presence and frontcourt prospect. Crashes the boards hard and is active defensively. Is a capable outside shooter. Has potential to average a double-double this coming season in Athens. Dylan Bohling (6’ 7, Forward, 2018) is a hard working prospect who has improved dramatically over the past year. While far from a finished product, he is a long and active player who is getting better weekly. Carrying an A+ average in the classroom, he is a prospect whose best ball is ahead of him. Corey Thomas (6’ 6, Forward, Marietta; 2018) is a sleeper prospect out of Cobb County who caught some attention from coaches. He has good bounce, is a capable finisher above the rim, and is active on the boards. Elijah Goodman (6’ 8, Monroe Area; 2018) is a long forward who shows flashes of play that match his high potential. He was a solid contributor on both ends of the floor and is comfortable playing on the perimeter. He has a good knack for offensive put backs and has defensive versatility. Combined with teammates Devin Sheats and Isaiah Glasper (mentioned above), Monroe Area is a team to watch in Class AAA. Tymon Szymanski (6’ 7, Forward, Rabun Gap; 2021) was one of the youngest players in the event; however that did not stop him from making a very favorable impression on many of the coaches in attendance. Just a freshman, he has great size and feel for the game. He is comfortable on the block and out on the perimeter, where he exhibited a good looking shot. With continued development, Tymon has a great chance to be a heavily sought after prospect at the Division I level.

2017 SEBA Atlanta College Showcase (Event Review)


The 2017 Southeast Basketball Academy (SEBA) Atlanta College Showcase took place on March 18 on the campus of Oglethorpe University. For the past twelve years, this event has successfully brought together available prospects from throughout the South and provided them with an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities to College Coaches. The event has served as bridge between players and coaches and has resulted in scholarships and playing opportunities for hundreds of players since its inception.

This year’s edition of the SEBA College Showcase carried on that tradition, as 180 prospects representing all parts of Georgia as well as seven other states were eager to compete and display their talent to the large collection of college coaches in attendance.

Ceaunte Zachery (Lithia Springs)
Ceaunte Zachery (6’ 2, CG, Lithia Springs; 2017)
Wiry and smooth scoring guard with athleticism and versatility. Can take the ball to the rim, knock down the three ball, and thrives in transition. Active and versatile defender. Late bloomer who has improved significantly over past year. Was named 1st Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-State this past year at Lithia Springs. Recruiting interest is picking up, including recent inquiries from several programs at Low D1 level.

Eric Lovett (6’ 4, CG, The Skills Factory Prep; 2017)
One of the top all-around guard prospects in the camp. He showed nice combination of size, skill, and athleticism at the guard spot. Really excelled when taking the ball to the rim on the fast break. When defense sagged, he knocked down good looking three point shot off the bounce and catch. Good court vision and set-up teammates nicely. Is going to be an excellent addition to a program at the High D2 or Low Major D1 level.

Joshua Brown (6’ 7, Wing, Riverwood International; 2017)
Intriguing prospect with big upside. Had excellent showing throughout camp. Showed great versatility with ability to score from wing and around the rim. Knocked down several three point shots within flow of offense. Has good leaping ability and had several impressive above the rim finishes. On defensive end, was strong on the boards and blocked numerous shots. Averaged double-double for strong Riverwood squad this past year. Very bright future.

Dynamic and explosive scoring point guard. Has tremendous quickness and was able to get penetrate at will into the paint, creating shots for himself and teammates. Has nice pull-up midrange jumper. Worked hard and showed positive attitude throughout the day. Averaged 23 ppg this year as a Senior and was a 1st Team All-Region Selection at Morrow High.

Desmeontay Dyer (6’ 3, SG, Eastside; 2017)
Impressive Wing-guard who stuffed stat sheet on both ends of floor. Was one of the camp’s better scorers, converting on a mixture of drives to rim and outside shots. Plays with a big motor and was consistently attacking the boards for second chance opportunities. Plays much bigger than listed height. One of the State’s most improved players, Des Averaged 18 ppg and 11 rebounds this past season, which was his first and only season of varsity play. All-Region selection for Eastside.

Excellent playmaking guard who caught attention of multiple college coaches with his play. Has great size for a lead guard and handles ball well. Used a deceptively quick first step and tight dribble moves to penetrate the lane at will throughout the day. Finishes well at the rim and with floaters in paint. Has good passing skills and vision and is adept at setting up teammates.

Physically strong and athletic wing who plays very well in transition. Has good leaping ability and had several impressive dunks when attacking rim. In the half court set, has ability to create his shot off dribble. Solid three point shooter off the catch. Active defender in passing lanes. Rebounds very well from guard spot. Was named Region “Player of Year” in 7-AAAAA this past year and led team to school record 21 win season. Above average student in classroom.

Mason Green (6’ 10, Forward, Eagles Landing Christian Academy; 2017)
Prospect with excellent length and upside potential. Showed flashes of dominant play. Has the ability to protect the rim and consistently block shots. Was aggressive on the offensive and defensive boards. Had fair share of offensive put backs for scores. Finished around rim with dunks. Will need to put on weight and work on being more consistent, however, the makings and talent are there for him to be an excellent prospect at next level.

Carson Culverhouse (5’ 11, CG, Carrollton; 2017)
Standout guard who plays with “pizazz” and a big motor. Has deep range on three-point shot and was one of the top shooters in camp. Creates well off the dribble and gets good separation from defense on his jumper. Handles the ball very well and has great court vision. Strong student with 3.7 GPA and 24 ACT score. Was named 1st Team All-Region this past year at Carrollton.

Devin Gardner (6’ 2, CG, East Bay, Florida; 2017)
Athletic scoring guard out of Tampa area who impressed with his all-around play. Slashed to the rim for scores, while also consistently knocking down three ball. Looked good while leading break and setting up teammates. Pressures ball well on defense and created several turnovers that led to easy scores.

Long and wiry guard who attacks the rim really well. Gave opposing defenses fits with his ability to drive to the rim and finish strong. Plays with good motor and with purpose. Was one of the top players in talent rich Dekalb County this past season averaging 17 ppg.

Bryce Parks (6’ 3, CG, Dutchtown; 2017)
Long and bouncy guard with very long wing span; Bryce was one of the camp’s better shot makers. He has a scorers mentality and was pumping in buckets from the perimeter, in transition, and while attacking the basket. Had couple impressive above the rim finishes. As he continues to physically develop, has great upside and best ball is certainly ahead of him.

Physically strong wing with good leaping ability. Was a tough matchup throughout the day for opponents. Excelled when putting the ball on floor and penetrating to rim. Had several thunderous dunks in traffic. Consistent jump shot. Excellent rebounder for position and runs floor hard on break. Reclassified to Class of 2018.

Skilled and speedy lead guard who impressed with his ability to create and score. Sees the floor well and set up teammates for easy baskets with well-timed passes. Knock down shooter from three-point land. Understands the game and plays within himself.

Athletic lead guard who shined on both sides of the floor. Offensively, has good presence as a floor leader; comfortable running a team. Is good distributor and scoring threat. Finishes well at basket and knocked down good share of outside jumpers. Defensively is tough on ball defender and active in lanes. Helped lead Allatoona to State championship game as a Junior and Final 4 appearance as Senior.

Powerful and athletic forward who was a force in the paint. Plays with great strength and energy, Was one of the top rebounders in the camp. Workhorse on the offensive boards converting put backs and creating many second chances for his team. Averaged a double-double this past year while being named 1st Team All-Region.

Smooth playmaker who can score and distribute. Has a deadly pull-up jumper in half court set and in transition. Has good quickness and handle. Showed ability to draw defense and kick to open teammates for easy shots. Has good defensive intensity and plays with hustle. All-Region selection for strong Calhoun program that has won 50 games over past two seasons.

2017 Guards

The camp roster included a very deep pool of talented perimeter players worthy of close looks from college coaches. Cobb County standout Eddie Figueroa (6’0, PG, Sprayberry) is a jet quick high scoring lead guard who takes the ball to the rim extremely well. He is a threat from deep and very good in transition; has quick hands and picked up his share of steals on the day. Eddie averaged 21 ppg this past season and was named All-Region. DJ Jackson (5’ 7, PG, South Paulding) was one of the smallest players in camp but he has “big” game. The ultra-quick point guard is a first rate distributor and set-up man. He has a solid three point shot that prevents defense from sagging. DJ is also a very good on ball defender who can harass opponent’s length of floor. A proven winner, he was major contributor for Coach Gil Davis’ South Paulding squad which spent bulk of season ranked # 1 in State. Kennon Watkins (6’ 1, PG, Booker T Washington Magnet) is a talented lead guard out of Montgomery, Alabama. He has a very quick first step and good handle which allows him to penetrate the lane and create. Excellent pull-up jumper and can finish strong around basket. Kennon is also an excellent student in classroom. Quintus Evans (5’ 9, PG, Stockbridge) was one of purest point guards in camp and one of the event’s top assist leaders. He does a great job running the show for his team and making players around him better. Excellent passer who can also score the ball when situation calls for it. He is also an active and vocal defender.

Elijah Butts (2017; Kennesaw Mountain)
Elijah Butts (6’ 1, CG, Kennesaw Mountain) is a strongly built combo guard who can put up points and score from all three zones. The 1st Team All-Region player has good defensive versatility and rebounds well from the guard spot. Holt Shannon (6’ 2, SG, Mt. Paran) is a multi-dimensional and skilled guard that needs to be evaluated by higher academic programs. He has a nice pull up jumper where he creates good separation from defense. Has strong build and can body smaller guards on way to basket. Moves well in half court set and utilizes screens well to set up shot. Uriah Pickens (6’ 2, SG, Decatur) is a physical guard with nice game. He showed good shooting ability, knocking down threes off the dribble and the catch. He uses change of speed moves very well to penetrate and has the strength to finish strong at the basket. Jesse Holt (6’ 0. PG, Dade County) is a skilled guard who showed a well-rounded perimeter game. The North Georgia standout knocked down numerous shots and distributed the ball to his teammates in scoring position, while playing with poise and court presence. Jaylen Love (5’ 11, SG, Hampton) is an athletic combo guard who scored the ball well. He penetrates aggressively and thrives in transition. An All-Region selection at Hampton this year, he plays with intensity and strong desire to compete. Chandler Gibson (5’ 11, PG, Monroe Area) is a skilled player who knows how to play the game. He is a deadly long range shooting threat, and balances his outside prowess with ability to beat man off the dribble and finish at the hoop. The All-Region selection sees floor well and had his share of well-timed assists. Derrick Newberry (6’0, CG, South Effingham) is nice looking guard who can create with the ball in his hands. He has above average quickness coupled with good floor vision. The All-Region player out of Savannah area scored the ball with efficiency. Clayton County’s TreJon Taylor (6’ 0, CG, Mt. Zion) is an athletic guard with good quickness and playmaking ability. He showed a deadly pull-up jump shot as well as ability to get to the rim and finish around bigger players. Whid Childs (5’ 10, PG, Marist) is a skilled guard with a high basketball IQ. The All-Region 1st Team selection has a nice handle and outside stroke. His court stability and extremely high test scores make him a prospect worthy of close looks from elite academic institutions.  ​​

Underclassmen Guards

The Underclassmen also boosted a good number of standout perimeter players. Christian Kelly (6’ 3, SG, Duluth, 2018) is a high potential player that College Coaches should track this Spring/Summer. The long and skilled guard can create his shot very well off the dribble and is a knockdown three-point shooter who can light it up when in a rhythm. Tahkwon King(6’ 1, CG, Jefferson County, 2018) is a talented player who drew attention with his productivity and athleticism on both ends of the floor. The 1st Team All-Region player was very good in transition and had several eye opening dribble moves and finishes. William “Tripp” Black (6’ 3, CG, Charles Drew, 2018) is a big-time shooter who can fill it up from beyond the arc. He has deep range, moves well without ball, and has the ability to get real hot and reel off string of treys. Jahwan Smith (5’ 10, PG, Kell, 2018) is a speedy floor general who is an excellent distributor and on-ball defender. He averaged six assists a game this year for a strong Kell squad. Another impressive prospect to keep eye on is Wil Walraven (6’ 2, CG, Sonoraville, 2018). The talented combo guard has the ability to score in bunches all over the floor. The All-Region selection averaged 19 ppg as a Junior this past season and has already reached the 1000 point plateau with a season left to go in his career. Joshua Strong (6’ 0, CG, 2018) is a dangerous scorer with very quick first step. The left handed guard attacks rim and uses body well. Averaged 18 ppg as a Junior in strong All-Region campaign at Kennesaw Mountain. Andy Blair (6’ 2, SG, Palm Harbor, FL, 2018) is a heady and fundamentally sound player who had a nice showing. Versatile and well rounded, he shot the ball well from beyond the arc, distributed, and made smart plays. Jalyn Hickman (5’ 10, PG, Gatlinburg-Pittman, TN, 2019) is a talented lead guard with a bright future. One of the top sophomores in attendance, He showed a high level of skill as well as a quarterback’s mentality on the floor.  Talique Williams (5’ 8, PG, Harris County, 2020) was the youngest player in attendance, but that did not stop him from having a strong showing. The cat quick point guard, who was named 1st Team All-Region as a freshman this season, plays with a maturity beyond his age and is a very good distributor. With continued development, he has a chance to be a really special player.

2017 & 2018 Wings

Kenneth Stanciel (6’ 3, Wing, Collins Hill, 2017) is a tough wing who plays with high energy. The type of “glue guy” who helps teams win games, He was all over the court on both ends of the floor and impressed with his ability to match up defensively with guards and bigger forwards. The 1st Team All-region selection finishes well at the hoop and has great body control. He is an above average student in classroom with strong test scores. Jackson Baylark (6’ 4, Wing, Pope, 2018) is a promising wing with fantastic athleticism. His leaping ability was on display with several impressive dunks and great production on the offensive glass. Defensively, he is a strong rim protector and rebounder. As he continues to develop his perimeter skillset, he is a definite player to watch among Georgia’s 2018 prospects. Terry “TJ” Goodrum (6’ 4, Wing, Allatoona, 2017) is a big wing with the ability to stretch the defense with his outside shooting ability. He is a versatile defender capable of matching up with guards and guarding bigger forwards. Khaleed Stapleton (6’ 3, Effingham County, 2018) is an athletic wing who attracted attention with his strong play throughout the day. He slashed his way to the rim and uses his body well to score at the rim. Also gets up and down the floor well and is in good in transition.Austin Panks (6’ 3, Wing, Buford, 2017) is a smart and battle tested player who won a State Championship this past season at Buford. For his camp team, he knocked down jumpers, finished on drives, and made hustle plays and was a clear asset for his squad. Jonathan Wood Jr. (6’ 4, Dade County, 2018) is a well-balanced inside-out threat who made a good impression. He was active defensively, strong on the boards, and a capable scorer; while also doing many intangibles that help win games. Ellis Wester (6’ 3, Wing, Jonesboro, 2017) is an athletic wing who scored the ball well off drives and on jump shots. He worked hard in skill stations and showed eagerness to improve. Terraius “AJ” James(6’ 2, Elbert County; 2019) is a promising athletic slasher with good feel for the game. He ran the floor hard and is good in transition, while also having a knack for being around ball to make plays. Benjamin Ross (6’ 3, Wing, Woodland, 2017) is a high energy guy with some explosive bounce. He plays bigger than his height and was effective on the boards, in addition to blocking shots and deflecting passes. His intensity was constant throughout the day, which was great to see.Kenneth McCullough –Lomax (6’ 4, Wing, Eagles Landing Christian Academy, 2017) is a strongly built and athletic wing who had a good showing. He excelled while putting ball on floor and attacking basket, where his lift and strength allows him to score consistently.

2017 & 2018 Forwards

Timothy Green II (6’ 7, Forward, Carrollton) was one of the highest upside potential players in attendance. The long and athletic forward scored on variety of interior moves complemented by consistent pull up jumper. He moves well for his size, and is an excellent rim protector on defensive end.  His on court talents combined with a top notch academic profile make him a 2018 prospect Colleges will definitely want to evaluate  Kristian Collins (6’ 5, Forward, Peachtree Ridge, 2017) had a good showing throughout the day. He is a player with inside-out versatility and can play on wing and in paint. He was excellent on the offensive boards and creating second chance points for his team. Has nice potential and will be a nice pickup for a program. Khalil Brown (6’ 6, Forward, Tri-Cities, 2017) is a long and athletic forward who opened some eyes with his play. He finished consistently in paint and put the ball on the floor to slash to rim. Showed a consistent pull-up jumper and can run the floor. Khalil was also active while grabbing boards and playing good interior defense. Brendon Tyler (6’ 4, Forward, Tri-Cities, 2017) is another prospect out of Tri-Cities High school with potential. He is long and athletic and was very effective in and around the paint. Cyrus Barnes (6’ 4, Forward, Lake Gibson, FL, 2017) is a prospect out of Central Florida who plays with a big motor. Whether knocking down baseline jumpers, grabbing offensive putbacks, or running break in transition, He was making plays to help his team succeed.

Tim Green II (Carrollton, 2018)
Kyree Bell (6’ 5, Forward, New Manchester, 2017) was a player who made a name for himself amongst camp staff with his work in the paint. He crashed the boards hard, ran the floor on the break, and exhibited potential that is worthy of looks from schools at next level. Cameron Crowe (6’ 6, Forward, Woodstock, 2017) is a stretch forward with a nice outside shot and team first mentality. A prospect with a tremendous academic profile, he plays within himself and is a player that elite academic colleges can evaluate for their program. Kyler Ingram (6’ 4, Forward, Cambridge, 2018) is a big bodied forward that is a tough matchup for opposing teams in the paint. He is deceptively agile for his size and his long wingspan allows for him to contest and block many shots. He has already became Cambridge’s all-time leader in his Junior season. With improved conditioning, Kyler can become an attractive prospect. Dre-Wan Clarke (6’ 5, Forward, Zephyrhills, FL, 2017) is an aggressive interior player who finishes well around the basket. Whether it was in half-court set or on the break, he was in attack-mode throughout the day. The Sunshine State product is also an active defender with good strength.
