Cleanthony Early Drafted by NY Knicks
SEBA Alum Cleanthony Early was selected with the 34th pick by the New York Knicks in the 2014 NBA Draft. The native of the Bronx will be living his dreams, as he returns home to play for the hometown team in Madison Square Garden. Cleanthony came down to Atlanta from New York in the Spring of his Senior year to compete in the 2009 SEBA Atlanta College Showcase Camp. He had a strong performance and was named one of the camp's top performers and made the All-Star team.
Cleanthony had a fantastic senior season at Wichita state, where he averaged 16.4 points and 6 rebounds while leading the Shockers to a perfect 34-0 regular season record. He played even better during the NCAA Tournament, averaging 27 points on 65.6 percent shooting from the field. He was named 2nd team All-American as a Senior and 1st Team All-MVC. As a Junior, he led Wichita State to the 2013 Final Four in Atlanta, where he scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in a narrow Semi-Final loss to eventual National Champ Louisville. Many NBA insiders consider Early to be one of the top "sleepers" in the Draft and a possible immediate impact player for the Knicks next season. He will be suiting up for Knicks in the NBA Summer league which begins July 11th.
Congrats Cleanthony!!
